Living The Word

If you do not worship God, you worship something, and nine times out of ten it will be yourself. You have a duty to worship God, not because he will be imperfect and unhappy if you do not, but because you will be imperfect and unhappy. – Fulton Sheen

He learned obedience from how he suffered. We can only reach God by the Holy Spirit. God's gift to everyone is Heaven. Jesus continues to take away the sins of the world. We live in the power of God. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Have an open heart and goodwill.

Salvation, be with God forever.

#ComeAndSee #FollowMe

Come and see,” Jesus says. “See who I truly am and what I’m doing. See that I know you personally and entirely. See what I have in store for you today.” In your prayer, ask Jesus to open your eyes to see him. Ask him, “Where are you today, Jesus? What do you want me to understand about you? How do you want me to follow you?” And then sit quietly to listen. All day, be alert and watch for his answers.

Step-by-step, this journey takes place in your home, in your place of business, and in your ordinary daily tasks. As you come and see, Jesus will teach and guide you. Perhaps he will help you to see his love for you. Perhaps he will prompt you to repair a strained relationship. Or maybe he will spark a new idea about someone to pray for. The Lord has something new for you every morning. As we begin this new year, come, and you will see what it is.

“Jesus, I’m coming to you today. I want to see where you are today and what you are doing.”

Psalm 40:2, 4, 7-10

R. Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.

I have waited, waited for the Lord,

and he stooped toward me and heard my cry.

And he put a new song into my mouth,

a hymn to our God. R.

Sacrifice or offering you wished not,

but ears open to obedience you gave me.

Holocausts or sin-offerings you sought not;

then said I, “Behold I come.” R.

“In the written scroll it is prescribed for me,

to do your will, O my God, is my delight,

and your law is within my heart!” R.

I announced your justice in the vast assembly;

I did not restrain my lips, as you, O Lord, know. R.

If the Church is for the people of God, the people need to hear the Word of God.

This is by far my favorite scripture reading.

But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.” –Matthew 6:33-34

So if you’re thirsty, go ahead and ask him for a drink—but don’t limit him. Just a small sip might do, but “just enough” is never enough for the Lord. No, he wants to give you nothing less than his own presence within you: his Spirit directing your paths, strengthening you against temptation, and filling you with love for him and for the people around you.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? All because God loves you.
